The Client Context

Mountains Anglican Refugee Support - Lower Mountains (MARS -LM), exists to support new refugees starting out in Australia. It is not a commercial enterprise, but as a mission-driven organisation grounded in care, relationship, and long-term impact.

Organisations like MARS -LM often work across multiple audiences: individuals, families, supporters, partners, and the broader community. Their digital presence needs to be simple and speak to all of these groups while remaining grounded in purpose rather than promotion.

The website needed to feel welcoming, trustworthy, and easy to navigate, while clearly communicating what MARS LM does and why it exists.

The Challenge

Prior to this project, MARS LM needed a clearer and more cohesive online presence.

The challenge wasn’t a lack of heart or purpose — it was translating that purpose into a digital format that:

  • Clearly explained the organisation’s role and activities

  • Made information easy to find and understand

  • Supported engagement without overwhelming visitors

As with many mission-focused organisations, resources needed to be used wisely, and the website had to be practical, sustainable, and easy to manage.

Our Approach

Our approach focused on clarity, accessibility, and alignment with mission. The team used our build with assistance model where the client builds the website and we assist where required.

We worked to assist the team with:

  • Structure content so visitors could quickly understand who MARS LM is and what they do

  • Use language that felt genuine and approachable rather than corporate

  • Create a logical flow that guides visitors through information, engagement, and contact.

Rather than over-engineering the site, we focused on getting the foundations right, ensuring the website would remain useful and relevant as the organisation continues its work.

Platform & Technology

The website was built on the Rocketspark platform, chosen for its reliability, security, and ease of use.

This allows MARS LM to manage content updates internally, without relying on technical expertise or complex systems — an important consideration for mission-driven organisations.

Design & User Experience

The design approach was intentionally simple and welcoming.

Clear typography, structured layouts, and intuitive navigation help visitors find information easily, regardless of their familiarity with the organisation. Visual choices support warmth and approachability, reinforcing trust rather than distraction.

The site is fully mobile-responsive, ensuring accessibility for users across devices and contexts.

Outcomes

Mountains Anglican Refugee Support - Lower Mountains  now has a website that:

  • Clearly communicates its mission and activities

  • Provides a welcoming entry point for new visitors

  • Is easy to manage and maintain internally

The website supports the organisation’s ongoing work by making engagement simpler and more accessible.

Final Thoughts

This project was about creating a digital presence that faithfully reflects purpose, care, and clarity.

By building a website that is practical, welcoming, and aligned with mission, MARS LM now has a platform that supports its work in the community — quietly and effectively.
