Project Snapshot
Client: ANZAC Way
Industry: Commemorative & Community Initiative
Project Type: New website
Platform: Rocketspark
Outcome Summary:
A digital home for a nationally significant pilgrimage
Clear storytelling and historical context
A platform capable of evolving with the project over time
The Client Context
ANZAC Way is a commemorative walking pilgrimage that honours Australian service and sacrifice by retracing historical routes and telling the stories connected to them.
It is not a commercial project, nor a single event. ANZAC Way exists to connect veterans, places, and stories, allowing participants and supporters to engage deeply with Australia’s military heritage through reflection, shared journey, and remembrance.
The website needed to do more than inform — it needed to carry meaning, hold history respectfully, and support a growing national initiative.
"Walking with Veterans toward spiritual health and holistic wellbeing"
A physical pilgrimage of remembrance, connection, and hope
The Challenge
From the outset, the challenge was unique.
ANZAC Way required a website that could:
Clearly explain a complex, multi-day pilgrimage
Hold historical and spiritual significance with respect
Support ongoing storytelling, updates, and future walks
Serve multiple audiences — walkers, supporters, churches, veterans, and the broader community
In other words, stewardship of story and purpose.
Our Approach
Our approach began with understanding the heart of ANZAC Way — why it exists and what it seeks to honour.
From there, we focused on:
Structuring content so visitors could understand the journey, its meaning, and how to engage
Creating clear pathways for stories, reflections, and updates
Ensuring the website could grow organically as the pilgrimage expands year by year
Rather than compressing the project into a single narrative, we designed the site to function as a living record, capable of holding stories over time.
Platform & Technology
The website was built on the Rocketspark platform, chosen for its reliability, flexibility, and ease of content management.
This allows updates, stories, and reflections to be added without technical friction — essential for a project that evolves during and after each walk.
Content structure and SEO foundations were supported using Flint AI, always guided by human oversight to ensure historical accuracy and appropriate tone.
Design & User Experience
The design approach was deliberately restrained and respectful.
Typography, imagery, and layout were chosen to support reflection rather than distraction. Navigation allows visitors to explore the purpose of ANZAC Way, follow the journey, and engage with its stories at their own pace.
The site is fully mobile-responsive, supporting walkers and supporters accessing content while on the move.
Outcomes
ANZAC Way now has a website that:
Clearly communicates its purpose and significance
Provides a respectful space for storytelling and remembrance
Can grow alongside the pilgrimage itself
The website supports ANZAC Way not as a campaign, but as a continuing act of remembrance.
Final Thoughts
This project required care, restraint, and respect.
By creating a digital presence that honours history while supporting living participation, the ANZAC Way website now stands as an integral part of the pilgrimage itself — preserving stories, enabling connection, and carrying meaning forward.
